The fifth ordinary session of the municipal Council of the city of Brazzaville held from 9 to 18 May 2016 worked on six projects of deliberation. One of them was the project on the approval of the attribution by United Cities and Local Governments of Africa (UCLG Africa) of the Organization of the Africities8 Summit in the city of Brazzaville in December 2018.
The councilors have deliberated in favour of the adoption of this project, as reported by l’ Agence d’information d’Afrique Centrale in their article on the resolutions adopted by the municipal Council of the Congolese capital.

Mr. Hugues Ngouélondélé, Mayor of Brazzaville, Vice –president of UCLG Africa and president of the departmental and municipal Council of the city has on this occasion invited the councilors to make sure that “the preparations for this great event starts as soon as possible to ensure its success.
