Election of ALGA Director as vice-President of CEPA of the UN
On 24 April 2017, the Moroccan Dr. Najat Zarrouk, Director of the African Local Government Academy (ALGA), was elected as vice-President of the Committee of Experts on Public Administration (CEPA) of the United Nations (UN) and member of the sub-committee of CEPA in charge of the evaluation of applications for obtaining the United Nations Public Service Award/UNPSA.
Dr. Zarrouk was designated by the UN Secretary General to join the CEPA since 2010. She served for 2 mandates, chaired 2 sessions (2012 and 2013), and presented several official documents namely on local governance, inclusion of diversity and non-discrimination in public administration, training and capacity building as well as the definition of local governments’ needs in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
