UCLG Africa signs two MOU respectively with the National Agency for Public Service and social Innovations of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ASAN) and the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA)

UCLG Africa has signed two memoranda of Understanding (MOU) on the sidelines of the side event held on 22 June 2018 in the framework of the United Nations Forum on public service .

The first was signed with the National Agency for Public Service and social Innovations (ASAN) of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the second with the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).

The first convention is intended to benefit from the experience of ASAN, which is seen as a pioneering centre in the field of services at the level of developing countries through its adoption of the Single Window system, a unique experience of its kind. The purpose of the second MOU is to make Gimpa an anchor Institute of the African Local Government Academy (ALGA) created to improve and raise the professionalism of the executives in local and regional authority in Africa.

The MOU was signed for UCLG Africa by Mr. Jean Pierre Elong Mbassi, Secretary General of UCLG Africa, for the ASAN by Mr. Ulvi Mehdiyev, President of ASAN, and for Gimpa by Professor Samuel ADAMS, Dean of Gimpa.

The evaluation of the implementation of the two memoranda of understanding will be conducted on behalf of UCLG Africa by the Director of the African Local Government  Academy (ALGA), Dr. Najat Zarrouk.
