Workshop dedicated to the knowledge management of the UCLG Africa Secretariat.
A workshop dedicated to the presentation of the Knowledge Management (KM) and Communication Strategies took place at UCLG Africa Secretariat in Rabat Morocco, from Mai 13 to 16, 2013. It has been organized as a part of the Joint Working Program between UCLG Africa and Cities Alliance (CA), which has co-supported the cost of this workshop.
It aimed at disseminating and discussing these two strategies with the UCLG Africa staff, as well as reaching consensus on quick wins and next steps of Information Management within the secretariat, to improve work collaboration and efficiency.
Knowledge management (KM) is concerned with the transfer information and best practices from one part of an organisation to another part where it is needed. In literature, it is broadly defined as “a conscious strategy of getting the right knowledge to the right people at the right time and helping people share and put information into action in ways that strive to improve organizational performance”.
The organisation of this workshop met the unanimous support of the UCLG Africa Staff, who attended the workshop in great number. A success to be reinforced as soon as possible through concrete actions of information management within the secretariat, which will allow UCLG Africa to better services its members.
