Training on Programme of Activities and Standardized Baselines under the Clean Development Mechanism

The United Nations Development Programme, Regional Service Centre for Eastern and Southern Africa, and the UNFCCC Secretariat

are organising a Training on Programme of Activities and Standardized Base lines under the Clean Development Mechanism to beheld in Abidjan, Côte D’Ivoire from 30 June – 2 July 2013.

The objective of the training workshop is to strengthen the capabilities of current and potential Coordinating and Managing Entities (CMEs) and Designated National Authorities (DNAs) in Africa on developing and implementing PoAs and Standardized Baselines. The training will focus on the latest PoA and Standardized Baseline guidelines and standards, potential sectors where PoAs and Standardized Baselines can be effectively applied (usingpractical case studies), and linkages with other policy instruments (e.g. NAMAs). The workshop will be an opportunity for practitioners in the region to discuss experiences on how PoAs can be designed and managed more innovatively and how Standardized Base lines can offer the potential of simplifying and streamlining project development.

This call is to identify current and potential African Coordinating and Managing Entities (CMEs) and African Standardized Baseline developers to participate in the PoA training. UNDP will be responsible for the travel costs and daily subsistence allowances (DSA) for the selected individual experts to attend the PoA training.

Documents to be submitted in response to this call:

i. Personal CV including past experience in CDM / PoA projects and at least 3 references.
ii. 2 page expression of interest on why you, as a representative of your organisation, should be selected to participate in the PoA training.
iii. Letter of recommendationfrom the DNA in your country.
