Join UCLG Africa at the Pedagogic Arabo-Africa Smart City Congress
The 3rd edition of the Pedagogic Arabo-Africa Smart City conference is being held from 13 to 14 May 2025 at the Mohammed VI Museum for the Civilisation of Water in Marrakech. The event is organised by the Moroccan Association of Presidents of Prefectural and Provincial Councils (AMPCPP), the Moroccan Association of Presidents of Communal Councils (AMPCC), UCLG Africa and Innovatel.
The theme is: ‘Arab-African Visions and Strategies for Intelligent, Sustainable and Secure Territories’. This year’s featured countries are Qatar and Cameroon.
The African continent and the Arab world are now at a crossroads, with growing urban challenges due to high urbanization, demographic pressure, and sustainable development requirements. It is in this context that the idea of a synergy between these two regions for the creation of smart cities emerges, with a view to addressing the specific challenges of urbanization and promoting harmonious, inclusive, sustainable, and resilient development.
The Arab-Africa Smart City Pedagogic Congress aims to address these challenges by creating a meeting and exchange platform for key stakeholders in territorial development. It aims to explore and promote best practices, innovations and technologies adapted to the specific realities of Arab-African territories, namely education, sustainable construction, the green and circular economy, city safety and security, urban mobility, renewable energy, secure digital transformation, e-government, 5G telecommunications, Smart agriculture and water rationalization technology, Smart Tourism, telemedicine and Integration and the Social Economy at the service of the citizen.
This event will also offer all its participants the opportunity to present new products and technological innovations intended for smart cities, to build relationships between project owners, project managers, design offices, politicians, urban architects, and solution publishers, to create new relationships conducive to the revitalization and contribution to Arab-African economic development in order to boost the business climate component and put Arab-African engineering at the heart of global development.
