From 22 to 24 March 2017, in the city of Ekurhuleni, South Africa, the Local Climate Solutions for Africa (LOCS4Africa) Congress will take place to explore critical links between climate change and urban water and sanitation in African cities.
LOCS4Africa Congress series is Africa’s leading platform on local climate action for cities and other sub-national governments. The congress offers the opportunity for direct engagement and strategic discussions around current local climate solutions and emerging trends relating to urban climate resilience and low carbon development in Africa.
LoCS4Africa 2017 will focus on water for cities and is scheduled to coincide with World Water Day (22 March). The Congress will connect Africa’s urban development challenges related to water and climate resilience with solutions and new opportunities for access to finance & technology, inclusivity through design and building more resilient urban communities.
The LOCS4Africa will address themes such as Integrated Urban Water Management as Instrument for Innovation, Urban Planning for Water Smart Cities, and Water for Healthy Cities among other themes. This congress is an opportunity for African mayors and local and sub-national governments to connect with various other stakeholders, leaders, experts and business and industry representatives.
