Within the framework of the Partnership between UCLG-Africa and Metropolis, a series of seminars is being prepared on Metropolitan Governance in Africa from October 2021 to January 2022.
This learning program aims to present the metropolitan reality as well as metropolitan governance with a gender perspective that can be key to addressing the challenges and threats that surround our metropolises. In addition, the course seeks to present models of governance according to their level of institutionalization, as well as to highlight the importance of reconsidering the Right to the City in a metropolitan context in order to consider metropolises as spaces that guarantee rights such as the protection of people from the acceleration of urbanization processes and to broaden the objective of improving the quality of life of people.
The Modules developed in this framework are about :
– Metropolitan Governance Models;
– The Right to the Metropolitan City in the context of the New Urban Agenda and the Agenda 2030;
– Case studies;
– Metropolitan Peer Learning.
